Seychelles Resorts

Often described as the "original garden of Eden", the Seychelles, an archipelago of 115 islands, lies 4° South of the Equator in the heart of the Indian Ocean and away from the cyclone belt. Its mean maximum temperature of 29°C and 12 hours of daylight throughout the year ensures stable weather whatever the season, generally warm and humid.

Climate
May to September - drier, slightly cooler with longer hours of sunshine and lower humidity.
July and August - strong winds occasionally causing a sea swell with the sea breeze making the climate refreshing and cool.
October to April - little wind and warmer.
December and January - frequent tropical rainfall.

Each of the islands possesses its own unique identity with incredible flora and fauna. We shall concentrate on the 3 main islands: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue where we have chosen the best hotels, guest houses and self-catering apartments and bungalows for you.

The main islands: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue

Mahe - Largest of the Seychelles archipelago is in many ways the most spectacular. Its mountainous back-drop, lush tropical vegetation and idyllic soft white beaches fringed by swaying palm trees charm the most difficult visitors with its warm and inviting sea helping to cool you off from the tropical sun. Victoria, the capital, is small enough that it does not take long to walk around it. Its daily market selling locally made crafts, fish, spices, fresh fruits and vegetables is a hive of daily activity   and a popular tourist attraction. The Botanical Gardens offer the opportunity to see some of  Seychelles' unique and endemic plants in easy and comfortable surroundings and nature lovers will find several nature walks and trails. For the sporty ones, there is an unbelievable choice of activities, from dive centres, paragliding and other water sports to sailing and big game fishing.  Nightlife in Mahe with its casinos, restaurants and night-clubs is also livelier than on the other islands.

Praslin - Once the haunt of Arab traders and sometimes treasure hiding places for pirates, Praslin is a blueprint for everyone's idea of the perfect tropical island with its belt of lush palm trees. Home to the strangely shaped "coco-de-mer", a large coconut famous for its strange appearance reminiscent of a woman's pelvis, the exquisite Vallee de Mai also boasts vanilla orchids and some of the world's rarest birds, the Seychelles bulbul, the fruit pigeon and the black parrot.

La Digue - An aura of charm and tranquillity surround this beautiful island with its masses of pink granite rocks around the coastline strewn with delightfully romantic beaches. On La Digue, time seems to stand still and for years life there has remained unchanged, even transport being mainly by oxcart or bicycle although there are 3 operating taxis on the island now. It is also a diving and snorkelling paradise with its outstanding underwater seascapes.

Desroches - The largest of the Amirante Islands, Desroches, surrounded by a beautiful coral reef, claims one of the finest coconut groves of the archipelago. Even though the island is only 6 kilometres long it is surrounded by 14 kilometres of beautiful pearl white sands. The coral reef offers guests with the perfect opportunity to swim and snorkel in the turquoise waters. The flight from Mahe International Airport is only 30 minutes long.

The choice is yours...
