The Island Castaway Guest House on Seychelles, also known as The Islanders Guest House is a family-run small hotel built during the year 1990 by the Godley family.
It stands proudly in a spacious, flat and well-tended tropical garden at Anse Kerlan Beach, on the north-west coast of Praslin island.
Guests staying here can walk in the footsteps of Oliver Reed and the crew of “Castaway” which was filmed on Anse Kerlan beach in 1986.

Accommodation

The Islander's Guesthouse offers comfortable relaxation in a holiday home of your choice, from self-contained Standard, Superior and Family accommodation in 4 detached, Creole-style bungalows.
The Standard Apartments each have an en-suite bedroom and separate open-plan lounge with dining area and equipped kitchen counter, fronted by a terrace with deck chairs and coffee table. Each apartment has a ceiling fan in the bedroom and the lounge, with air-conditioning in the bedrooms available at a nominal fee.
The Superior Apartments are at the front of the property, closer to the ocean, and have the same amenities but a more spacious bathroom with twin hand basin and a higher quality of décor and furnishings.
The Family Apartments each have 2 bedrooms and bathroom with tub, separate shower cubicle and bidet, a spacious open-plan lounge with dining area and equipped kitchen.

The Guest House offers 6 double bedrooms and 2 spacious family apartments.
The double bedrooms are suitable for 2 adults plus 1 child. The family apartments have two bedrooms for 2 adults plus 2 children or for 4 adults.

Every bungalow has a small terrace, a kitchen, a dining table, a living area and cupboards for storage.
All rooms are now equipped with air-conditioners as well as a safe. Hot water can be enjoyed with a bath or a shower.

There are 2 new superior rooms with new designs and increased comfort (new furniture, larger bathroom with 2 wash basins and larger shower cubicles)
which also includes a safe and air-conditioning.

Air-conditioning is optional with supplement of 8 euros per day payable directly to the hotel

There is a supermarket a mere 2 minutes walk away

Please note that on Sundays, the restaurant is closed and clients who have booked on Half-Board are taken to another restaurant,
free transport being provided by Islanders, where they will only have to pay for drinks

It should also be noted that no Half-Board or B&B options are offered between 20th December and 3rd January as the restaurant closes then for its annual holiday

Guests staying there are spoilt for choice, and may opt for a combination of self-catering accommodation with catered meals at the Capricorn Restaurant, which serves a selection of Creole and continental specialities. Shopping for groceries is made easy by the close proximity of mini-markets and general merchants in the area; and guests wanting to steep themselves in the local way of life can visit various farms in the village for fresh produce, and buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen as they bring their day’s catch to a beach close-by.

Upon request, the Guest House personnel assist clients for all your holiday requirements, such as excursions, fishing, diving, taxis, bus schedules etc.

The beach is a few steps away, providing the ultimate enjoyment of sun, sea and sand practically on your doorstep, and capping most everyday with glorious sunsets.

The Islander’s has got it's own private parking. A tortoise-pen is also close to the parking area and guests can feed them from the near-by grasses or leaves.

The 2 famous beaches of Anse Lazio (45mins) and Anse Georgette (20mins) could be reached by foot from The Islander's Guest House.

Capricorn Restaurant

The Islander’s "Capricorn" restaurant was, fully re-constructed in 2010 and is highly recommended for the variety of its Creole and seafood specialities at affordable prices. It  is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays, resident guests who do not wish to cook their own dinner are offered free transfers to and from a similar restaurant nearby.
The “Capricorn” bar serves a range of fresh home-made tropical fruit juices, sorbets, and cocktails, as well as the popular SeyBrew beers and fizzy drinks.

The owners

The Godley family, the owners, live right next to the Reception and their aim is to imbibe the guesthouse tradition with the essence of Praslinois hospitality, and, together with their loyal team, they provide an attentive service which contributes to their guests’ collection of memorable moments.
