Le Chateau St Cloud La Digue

Chateau St Cloud is ideally situated in the centre of La Digue, at the foot of the island's only mountain at 10 min from the beach or (a few minutes by bicycles) to the famous beach "Anse Source D'Argent".
The Chateau's grace and charm is complemented by the surrounding scenery in which exotics flowers, fruits and tropical plants encompass this colonial estate in rustic tranquillity.

It was built at the height of Napoleon's Empire and named after the small French town of St Cloud south of Paris. A visitor to the Chateau is privy to a splendid view of local granite formations which writhe and twist in bizarre patterns. On the estate guests can also visit one of the few coco de mer trees still remaining on the island, and if leisurely movement catches your fancy, there are giant tortoises which have been on the estate for generations, and are now considered part of the St Ange family. The Chateau was once part of a vanilla farm and in recent times has been converted into a small charming hotel by its owner the Saint Ange family.

For people seeking tranquillity and serenity, a place where only the whispering of palm leaves in the sea breeze and only the sound of gently falling coconuts can be heard, is the most idyllic

environment. For the more adventurous, a journey by ox cart or bicycle will carry guests between the Chateau and the beaches or on a visit to the main village of La Passe.

Accommodation
All rooms have air-conditioning, safe, mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities, hair-dryer, TV, telephone, bathroom with shower/bidet/wc and balcony.

Deluxe Rooms
Only 4 spacious deluxe rooms are situated in the main house "The Chateau" over looking a beautiful garden. They are all well equipped with a large bathroom, spacious shower and nice corner bath, and a lovely terrace.
Suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 children, all rooms have a bath. Guests will receive a bottle of sparkling wine and free bicycle per stay.

Superior Rooms
The 4 superior rooms, each very spacious and well equipped,  have air conditioning and ceiling fan, a veranda and a large bathroom with a separate bath (in 3 of the rooms only) and shower, IDD telephone, Mini Bar, Safe, Tea and Coffee making facilities.
Suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults & 1 child.

Standard rooms
The 6 standard rooms have a spacious veranda, and are equipped with fan, shower, IDD Telephone, Mini Bar, Safe, Tea and Coffee making facilities. Air conditioning is also available upon request.
Suitable for 2 adults only bathroom has a shower.

Swimming Pool
There is also a bar that overlooks the swimming pool area. At clients’ request the hotel can arrange various excursions, big game fishing, diving etc.

Restaurant
The restaurant offers exquisite Creole cuisine and is surrounded by a garden with exotic plants and flowers and is opened to all for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Three times a week there is evening entertainment accompanying the hotel famous buffet and a set menu is served the rest of the week.

Chateau St Cloud will be closed for maintenance work as from 01st December 2010 to 03rd January 2011.
