Three delightful chalets in a cool tropical garden with coconut,
papayas and other fruit trees within walking distance from the ferry
jetty at La Passe. Each chalet bears its name from a coconut growing
on the island. Just have a walk around the houses and choose your
favourite veranda for your morning coffee.
Villa Kokoleo
Kokoleo offers spacious rooms and high ceilings with a ground area
of 112m². An open wooden veranda
13m long invites you to sink into a comfortable armchair and simply
do nothing or gaze at the enchanting White Fairy Tern circling above
in the deep blue sky.
With its large rooms of over 20m²,
two kitchens and two bathrooms, the complete chalet provides
sufficient space for up to six persons. The house can be divided
into two private areas with a mobile timber wall. In each
Half-Chalet you will still find a very spacious veranda, kitchen,
bathroom and double room for you alone - and you don't even have to
share the magnificent view.
Kokoleo was built in 2004, at the rear of the vast garden,
just next to the highest papaya plants.
Villa Kokover (green coconut)
Unlike the other houses Kokover is not dividable. Designed
for up to four persons, it provides a spacious kitchen, two double
rooms, two bathrooms and a veranda - offering a splendid view on the
mountain Nid d'Aigles. Kokover is perfect if you want to rent
a whole house just for you and your loved ones and you need only one
kitchen. One of the double rooms is directly connected with a
bathroom, while the second bathroom is accessible from the veranda.
The house is located in the heart of the tropical garden. If you
look into the sky at night you will know why the star fruit grows
here - you can reach the carom out of the kitchen window.
Villa Kokorouz (the red coconut)
This second jewel bears this name of the big orange fruit full of
delicious coconut water growing in the garden near the house.
In the midst of the banana trees, a small stream naturally separates
the rather cosy garden in front of Kokorouz from the rest of
the garden with Kokover in the middle and Kokoleo at
the back. After a sunny day on the beach you will appreciate the
cool outdoor shower near the banana leaves.... Enjoy that sparkling
rainforest feeling!!!
The owners built Kokorouz in 2001 for up to six guests -
12,6m in length and 8,6m in width it is only slightly shorter than
Kokoleo. In the middle of the veranda a decorative wooden
partition wall provides privacy from one side to the other - just
perfect, if you don't like to rent a whole chalet.
General
The owners believe that the direct contact to fresh air in a natural
environment is the key to real wellness. You will therefore not find
any air conditioning in the houses.
To invite every breath of wind, the traditional Creole House is
built on stilts, with high walls and wood slaps above doors and
windows, allowing the air to circulate beneath the house and
throughout the rooms. This is emission free natural
air-conditioning.
To cool down the sleeping rooms in hot nights there are fans. Solar
panels on the roofs of Kokoleo and Kokorouz produce hot water for
kitchens and bathrooms.
