Rodrigues,
the 'Cinderella of the
Mascarenes', is a delightful, remote little holiday island 650 km east of
Mauritius. Measuring only 18 km in length and 8 km at its widest point,
Rodrigues is entirely surrounded by coral reefs offering what some experts claim
to be of the best diving and snorkelling opportunities in the Indian Ocean.
That's because there has never been industrial development on the island, so its
offshore marine ecosystems have been spared the consequent pollution.
Mauritius hotels are first class and if you enjoy being spoilt by

and the hotels of character and other less pretentious private
properties.
At the two hotels in
Rodrigues - Mourouk Ebony and Cotton Bay - and the other smaller
establishments, restaurants offer delectable Creole, Chinese and French
dishes. Rodriguans pride themselves on their commendable hospitality.
