Location

The hotel lies on a private beach front estate known as Balaclava along Turtle Bay ideally located between Port Louis (12 km) and Grand Bay (12 km), on the North-West coast, which is the sunniest region of Mauritius. The distance to the airport is 60 km. New trunk roads provide easy access to the hotel

The Estate

Immersed in the calming ambience of a tropical hideaway, “Balaclava” is a historical estate dating back to the 18th century, with fascinating natural scenery. On the northern border flows Citron River, over dams and cascades into a shallow lagoon integrated in the lush tropical vegetation.

Mysterious ruins remain to be explored as witnesses of the colonial times. Walkways and footpaths allow for long walks through the luxuriant garden of the estate with its magnificent views over the impressive mountain range of Mauritius

Beach & Sea

“Turtle Bay” is the first Marine National Park in Mauritius with well preserved underwater life. There are excellent snorkelling grounds right off the beach. Aquamarine warm waters and secluded golden sandy beach in front of the hotel is about 500m long well protected by a coral reef. The bay has excellent conditions for all kinds of water sport

Prestige Rooms

Enjoy the breathtaking view from the 58m² Prestige room. Elegantly fitted-out with light tone wooden furniture and designed with natural tone cotton and silk fabrics. Equipped with a large bathroom which can be opened to the bedroom by decorative screens, comprising of a bathtub and separate shower, independent toilet with bidet and separate double washbasins. Furnished with walk-in closets or large wardrobes.

10 suites of 92m² delicately decorated with pastel green fabrics and furnished with light wood furniture. Sense the exotic charisma of one of the 4 themed suites of 80m²:

730 sqm • 320 Covers  Open terrace restaurant on split-levels under an expansive wooden roof - Excellent view over the pool and the sea from all tables, our main restaurant Belle Vue has been extended to provide a more spacious buffet preparation area with live cooking stations including sushi and dim sum.

Nestled amidst palm trees and right on the beach – sample an exquisite selection of fresh seafood specialties and other grillades served in a casual and rustic atmosphere, while you marvel at a magnificent bay view. Come for breakfast, lunch or dinner - inside or on the beach.

Breakfast: As from 07.30 to 10.30 hrs.

Guests booked in suites and villa, regular guests in Prestige Rooms and Maritim Partner card holders have the privilege to start the day on the beach with a tropical breakfast selection.

Lunch: From 12.30 to 15.00 hrs with a light selection of seafood and grilled dishes.

All inclusive guests receive a credit of Rs 400.

Dinner: Open daily as from 19.00 to 22.00 hrs where our

Chef will cater for A La Carte dinners. Guest on half-board or all inclusive receives a credit of Rs 400.

Nestled amidst the hotel’s 25 ha garden, the 3,500m² “Tropical Flower Spa” is an oasis of tranquillity. The soothing sounds of the waterfall’s cascading flow intermixing with the chirping of the feathered “locals” while private wellness pavilions entice guests to partake in professional applications and treatments.

Those who reward themselves with a visit to the Spa are in for something special. After an individual consultation to ascertain skin type, a mix of tropical flowers, other plants, natural oils and scents according to your selection and requirements is produced for your tailor-made masks and creams. 

A variety of treatments aimed at promoting relaxation and well-being. 

There is also a special room dedicated to bridal preparations - in addition to head-to-toe beauty treatments, hairdressing, manicures and pedicures, the bridal dressing rooms are comprehensively equipped to ensure everything is perfect on this most memorable day.
