Trou aux Biches is by far the most sought after beach resort in Mauritius. It owes its popularity with discerning regular visitors mainly owing to it safe bathing for children, perfect conditions for snorkeling (either in its lagoon or along its reefs), and its fine silver sand. The proximity of the 5-star Beachcomber Group "Trou aux Biches Village Hotel" is certainly a plus. Its amenities include water and other sports (water-skiing, paragliding, snorkeling, sailing, tennis, golf etc), several restaurants and a casino. Although these amenities are strictly for the use of hotel residents, overseas visitors are usually welcome. Another useful local amenity is Popo Store (a small but well stocked grocery store where you can find practically everything from fresh French baguettes to the best wines).
