Trou aux Biches is by far the most sought after beach resort in Mauritius. It owes its popularity with discerning regular visitors mainly owing to its safe bathing for children, perfect conditions for snorkelling (either in its lagoon or along its reefs), and its fine silver sand. Its amenities include water and other sports (water-skiing, paragliding, snorkelling, sailing, etc), several restaurants and a casino. A useful local amenity is Popo Supermarket (a small but well stocked grocery store where you can find practically everything from fresh French baguettes to the best wines). Trou aux Biches boasts several restaurants: from the very popular snack-bar-cum-restaurant-bar where many tourists enjoy the local fare at local prices to the gourmet restaurants all within easy walking distance.

Les Charmilles

Overview
Les Charmilles is a cosy 3-bedroom semi-detached duplex situated in second position, on the side of the main family villa which gives directly on to the beach. It comfortably accommodates 6 adults and its front terrace is less than 20m from the fine beach of Trou aux Biches with its beautiful sunsets, safe swimming and water sports within a blue lagoon protected by coral reefs.
The villa is 1 hour’s drive from the airport but only minutes away from banks and doctors.
A pharmacy as well as a small well-stocked supermarket is within walking distance and several restaurants offering various cuisines are within walking distance.

Interior

The living room/dining room, furnished with a comfortable cane suite as well as a sideboard, a table and chairs for 8 people,
has a ceiling fan and gives on to a covered terrace where meals can also be taken.

A well-equipped kitchen with wall fan.

A small lavatory and washbasin.

Upstairs:
All three bedrooms have air-condition as well as a ceiling fan.
Main bedroom has a double bed, an en suite shower-room/wc and partial sea view.
Second bedroom has a double bed.
Third bedroom has 2 single beds.
A separate shower-room/wc.

Equipment
Gas stove/electric oven, fridge-freezer, washing-machine, microwave, coffee-maker, electric kettle, toaster.
Television and telephone (for receiving international calls and making local calls only). Webber BBQ.

Staff

Maid service for 2 hours every morning (except Sundays and bank holidays).

Neighbourhood
Water-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, kite surfing, pedalos and glass-bottom boats are all easily available along the beach. Other activities include deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, sun-downing cruises by catamaran in the lagoon, catamaran excursions to the small islands in the North. The popular Beachcomber Hotel 9-hole golf course is only a few hundred metres away. In nearby Grand-Bay (15 minutes by car): underwater excursions in submarine, underwater sea-scooters, scuba-diving, an array of restaurants offering different cuisines, tax-free shopping at Sunset Boulevard boutiques. Nature lovers should not miss a visit to the SSR Botanical Garden in Pamplemousses. Others may prefer an exciting evening at the Trou aux Biches Casino.
