The Island Villa

Overview
The villa is located on an islet, 50m from the beach, and is accessed via a wooden pontoon built on rocks. It is north-facing with off-shore prevailing winds. The property is built on sand with direct sea access on all sides. Stone steps lead to a sort of natural pool formed by two neighbouring islets. It is an ideal spot for safe swimming or taking a dip while having an aperitif. A makeshift pontoon, on the east side of the islet, leads to deeper waters for adult swimming and diving.

The islet is home to crabs, periwinkles and local fishermen from whom guests may purchase freshly caught small line fish and crustacean. Premium fish and crayfish (gutted and filleted on the spot) are available from Ali, a well-known local figure who visits the islet regularly.

Views: Magical hues, turquoise lagoon, low tides revealing spectacular sandbanks (rare in Mauritius). An ever-changing environment in view of the villa’s 360º position, the wind, the light and the mood of the sea.

    -         Bedroom 2 (1 king-size bed 180cms which can be separated into twins, air con, access
    to private veranda)
    -         Bedroom 3 (3 single beds 90cms, air-con)
    -         Bedroom 4 (Queen bed 160cms, air-con, external access)
    -         External shower

  • All bedrooms offer a choice of quality pillows and bed linen in percale cotton or linen.

Equipment
Fully Equipped Kitchen: gas cooker/electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, American-style refrigerator.
Laundry Room: washing machine, tumble-dryer, second refrigerator.
Large stainless-steel Webber BBQ, WI-FI Internet Broadband connection, TV  (satellite channels) in sitting-room and 1 bedroom, generator, anti-cyclone shutters, monitored alarm system, night watchman on request.

Two kayaks are also for the use of guests

Quality wine and champagne delivery service (French, South African and Australian).

Staff
2 maids from 08:00 to 16:00 daily (available in the evening on request)
Gardener/odd-job man.

Can accommodate up to 6 adults and 2 children

 


In proximity: Belle Mare Plage Hotel’s two professional golf courses (Links & Legends) and Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course.  Grand Bay with its duty-free boutiques (Sunset Boulevard) (20 minutes by car).  Port-Louis – the capital (Caudan Waterfront shopping mall – 30 minutes by car).
