Further South on the West coast one reaches Tamarin, with its new Tamarina Golf Course, and popular with those looking for exhilarating surfing, then Riviere Noire long known as the hub of big game fishing where one holidays at a slower pace, before reaching the coast of Petite Riviere Noire where there are a few appealing properties with pool in quiet regions on the beach but more than a km from the main road. Further South still is Le Morne with its several beach hotels and Golf Course at the Paradis & Dinarobin hotels. This coast is dryer than the north or east coast and generally not yet spoilt by tourism and enjoys an all year round warm climate. Charming 2-bedroom villa, of Creole style architecture, situated in second position in a secure tropical garden shaded by palm trees. A private alleyway leads directly to a fine sandy beach (20m) lapped by the bay of Black River, on the West coast of the island.  This coast is very popular as it boasts a most pleasant all-year-round climate.

Supermarkets, shops, boutiques and banks are within walking distance. A Deep Sea Fishing centre and a tennis club (Riverland – Tamarin) also close by. 3 golf courses are within easy travelling distance: Tamarina Golf Estate (10 mns by car), Paradis Golf Course (15 mns by car) and Golf du Chateau (Bel Ombre – around 30 minutes by car).

Accommodation

The lounge/dining-room (with ceiling fan) is comfortably furnished with wicker armchairs, coffee table, table lamp, standing lamp, sideboard, TV (French satellite channels), a round dining table and chairs for 4.  This room opens on to a Creole style covered veranda boasting rattan armchairs, coffee table, a dining table and bench for alfresco meals, as well as raphia blinds to protect from the sun.
