Further South on the West coast one reaches Tamarin, with its new Tamarina Golf Course, and popular with those looking for exhilarating surfing, then Riviere Noire long known as the hub of big game fishing where one holidays at a slower pace, before reaching the coast of Petite Riviere Noire where there are a few appealing properties with pool in quiet regions on the beach but more than a km from the main road. Further South still is Le Morne with its several beach hotels and Golf Course at the Paradis & Dinarobin hotels. This coast is dryer than the north coast and generally not yet spoilt by tourism and enjoys an all year round warm climate Also to be noted that no less than 2 well stocked supermarkets (European style) are now operating on this stretch of coast.

La Casepoz Studio

Overview

‘La Casepoz” is a dainty, private, well furnished, air-conditioned cottage/studio of 75m², situated in the owner’s garden, in the residential area of Tamarin, on the west coast of Mauritius.
Located on the slope of Tamarin Mountain, the cottage-studio offers a beautiful view over the mountain range, Tamarin Bay and part of the west coast. It is ideal for couples who wish to spend a longer holiday  and take time to visit Mauritius at their own pace or for retired couples  who want to get away from the cold European winter and to enjoy a secure and comfortable guest house, with company next to them.  A jacuzzi in the garden has been installed for your relaxation especially after a long touring day.

Living Area

• Well-furnished front verandah overlooking Tamarin Bay , with a settee, one armchair and a coffee table on one side and a round dining table with 4 chairs on the other.

• The main room has both air-condition and a ceiling fan (your choice) and is separated by a curtain from the TV area. It has a double bed (1.60m x 2.00m),  bedding included. A baby cot and bedding are available on request.

• The TV area (with local and satellite channels) can also accommodate a 3^rd person.

• The fully equipped, open plan kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery and plates, a 2 gas hob (gas bottle outside), and a cooker hood. 

• On the other side of the room is the bathroom with the basin, shower, toilet, wardrobe, a safe for valuables, and a hairdryer.  Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided.

• The cottage is equipped with an alarm system and fire extinguisher for your security.

• Parking space within the garden for security of your rented car.

Location
The studio is only 1 hr drive from the airport, 1km from Tamarin Bay  (one of the best surfing spot in Mauritius) and 15km from Le Morne peninsula with its worldwide known kite surfing spot . (If you wish to learn kite surfing, you may book for private lessons on the spot).
It is also not far from many beautiful must see areas:

• the natural reserve of the Black River Gorges 

• Casela Nature & Leisure Park.

• The Plaine Champagne road will lead you to Cascade Alexandra and to the 7 coloured earths of Chamarel, a phenomenon unique in the world

• Down to the south, close to the splendid wild coast road, is the Crocodile Park

Services

• A maid comes in every day  (except on Sundays & public holidays)  for cleaning, washing the dishes and making the beds, but no cooking 

• For those who do not wish to cook, catering facilities can be organised with a chef and meals can be delivered, at your convenience, at a very reasonable price currently 2009 +/- Eur4 per person.

• A Weber BBQ is at your disposal, on request.
