Grand Bay & Pereybere - Grand Bay, the main resort of Mauritius is
considered by some to become a little seedy at night with its numerous bars and night-clubs. During the
day however, with its splendid hotels, specialist cuisine restaurants,
tax-free designer fashion boutiques
as well as a host of tropical resort amenities such as big game fishing, outer-islands
trips, under-water walking etc, Grand Bay is indeed a very popular attraction and a must
for visitors. At night,
the centre of Grand Bay becomes truly alive and activity does not die
down under the early hours of the morning. Only a couple of miles further north
along the coast lies the village of Pereybere with its very popular public
beach.
Villa Exotica
Overview
A charming 3-bedroom villa
with dark wood shutters, situated in Pereybčre (North coast), in a quiet
garden fringed with casuarinas trees, on a lawn sloping down to the beach
and its turquoise bay dotted with small sailing boats. It is 5 minutes (on
foot) from grocery shops, restaurants, doctor and public transport. By car,
it is 5 minutes away from bustling Grand Baie (banks, hypermarket, shops,
chemist, restaurants) and 75 minutes from the airport.
Inside
The spacious covered terrace has a large
trestle-style table and benches which allow meals to be taken al fresco
while admiring the magnificent sea view. There are numerous deck chairs for
relaxation in the flowery garden. The only bedroom on the ground floor has a
ceiling fan, a double bed and opens directly on to a cosy corner of the
terrace furnished with rattan armchairs with colourful cushions. The lounge
is fitted out with Balinese-style wooden furniture and beautifully
coordinated colours. Reading corner with comfortable armchairs. Separate
dining-room. Separate shower-room/toilet. Well equipped kitchen. Upstairs:
the main bedroom has air-con, a double bed, en suite shower-room/toilet and
opens on to a covered balcony with lovely views on the bay. A third bedroom
has 2 single beds which can be put together to form a double, a ceiling fan
and an en suite shower-room/toilet.

cooker/electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, electric
kettle, toaster, coffee-maker. TV (Satellite channels), DVD. Telephone.
BBQ. 2 sun loungers.
Staff
A maid is available for
cleaning and ironing from 09.00 am to 1.00 pm every day (except on Sundays
and bank holidays). Cooking and babysitting in on demand and at extra
cost.
Neighbourhood
Catamaran
excursions to the small islands of the north or to other parts of the
island. In nearby Grand Bay (5 minutes by car): Water-skiing, windsurfing,
parasailing, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, sun-downer cruises by catamaran
in the lagoon, underwater excursions in submarine, underwater sea-scooters,
hypermarket, an array of restaurants offering various cuisines and tax-free
shopping at Sunset Boulevard boutiques. Nature lovers should not miss a
visit to the SSR Botanical Garden in Pamplemousses. The popular Trou aux
Biches Hotel 9-hole golf course is only 20 minutes away by car. Some may
prefer an exciting evening at the Trou aux Biches Casino nearby.
