As from the 1st October 2011, with the 9 new Suites with private pool, it now has a capacity of 20 rooms.
More services and devices have been added such as Room service, Ipod dock in all the rooms,
Nespresso machine in the Suites, Wi-fi in all the rooms, massage in room…etc…)
The new classification is :
3 kaz standard, 4 Kaz superior, 8 Garden suites,
and 5 Sea View suites (with one of the most beautiful views of Mauritius on the lagoon).

Green Tourism
In the south west of the island, at 400m in altitude, Chamarel is surrounded by the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site. In this region, the World Wild Life Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot. Lakaz is situated 55mn from the airport, 1h from the capital Port-Louis, 10 to 15mn from the most beautiful beaches on the island like the Morne and Baie du Cap, 10 to15mn from the small coastal villages of Black River and La Gaulette where you will find supermarkets and shopping centers. Lakaz Chamarel is a small „boutique hotel‟, managed like a Guesthouse, charming and refined. Located in full nature and nested in a small valley in the heart of a splendid tropical garden of twelve hectares. Surrounded by the mountains of Chamarel, it is easily accessible.
Lakaz Chamarel includes a main building with a living room, a TV room, a dining room, a veranda, an open bar and a kitchen. Two swimming pools, two wooden thatch roof kiosks with a second bar and a dining room, a sauna and a „Cabane‟ for massages. Scattered around the main building, the 20 rooms has a different decoration representing the diversity of different cultures on the Island. Each room declines its ethnic influence in its furniture and its decoration: China, Africa, India, or simply tropical. The wood, the slate, the beams, the terra cotta, the ton ochre, beige and rust typically confer to this Exclusive Lodge, a Mauritian charm. The terraces open on the infinite one; the bathrooms to open sky make it possible to benefit from the spectacle of surrounding nature.

Kaz standard (3 standard rooms): capacity / 2ad+1child
Double rooms of 50 m2: (Lakaz Feraye, Dibois, Bambou) with a terrace, at a good distance from each other and overlooking a swimming pool.
Each room has its own bathroom with an open air shower. Hairdryer, Mini bar, Tea & coffee facilities, Safe, Ipod Dock, Phone.

Kaz Superior (4 superior rooms): capacity / 2ad+1child or 3ad
Superior rooms of 60m² (Kaz Namasté, Tropikal, Zen and Afrika) with a terrace, well spaced within the garden, and overhanging a swimming pool of 16 meters and two thatch roof gazebos (bar and lounge).

Garden Pool Suite (8): capacity / 2ad+2children or 3ad

Sea view Pool Suite (5): capacity / 2ad+2children or 3ad

Restaurant and services: The Chef Eric (French) has 10 years experience in the kitchen and has worked in beautiful 5 stars hotels in Mauritius. Breakfast and dinner are included in the tariffs, and for lunch there is a choice à la Carte..
Breakfast (Full American Breakfast) is served between 7.45 am and 10.30 am ( or at your time when you wake up): Coffee, expresso, tea, chocolate, fresh fruit juice, homemade bread, homemade jam, butter, cheese, cereals, fruits and eggs from the farm of the people from the Village of Chamarel.
Dinner is served as from 19h30 with a choice:Amuse-bouche, Starters, Main courses, desserts. Also buffet and Barbecue
For lunch: there is a choice à la Carte with different Salads, a Mauritian menu, fresh pasta etc…or Lakaz can prepare, as well, your lunch on request.
You will find several local restaurants ("table d‟hôte") in the village of Chamarel, 10 min walking distance open only for lunch.

Room service as from 7.30am to 9.30pm Tray charge of 150 Rs per person for breakfast and dinner
