The Z Hotel is situated in the north of Zanzibar near Nungwi village, an hour’s drive from the airport and Stone Town. The boutique hotel consists of only 30 rooms and 5 suites. It blends elegant, contemporary design with traditional zanzibari features. Set in a verdant tropical garden with direct access to the fabulous sandy beach and warm turquoise water of the Indian Ocean, the Z hotel has been designed by and an international team of architects, of which Philippe Starck. ACCOMMODATION All the rooms include the following:
Deluxe Garden Rooms are situated on the ground floor and first floors. They are close to the pool and have easy access to the magnificent beach. The balconies are perched over the tropical garden and you will be perfectly placed to admire the amazing exotic flora. The bedroom with the beautiful lighting and the Egyptian cotton bed linen and summer duvet offers you a romantic atmosphere Deluxe Sea View are on the 1st and 2nd floor. These rooms have luxury wall paper in splendid colours and furnishing from Milan and on top of that, Philippe Starck’ lighting and furniture. The rooms are luxurious and romantic with natural light flooding in and a wall of glass door that opens on a balcony from where you have an interrupted view of the crystal blue ocean. You can even dreamingly admire the most wonderful sunset from your balcony which would complete your day! Interconnecting rooms: the deluxe garden view and deluxe sea view can be found on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor. One of the rooms has a king size bed while the other adjoining room has 2 single beds. The interconnecting rooms encompass all the features of the deluxe rooms. Roof-Top suites encompass all the benefits of the deluxe rooms including 50 metres of living space, 40 metres of wrap-around terrace and balcony, complete pull back bi-fold door floor to ceiling glass door and external shower on terrace. With the advantage of being perched of the top of the building, the roof top suite offers the most breath taking view of the beach and ocean. The Z Suite is as we would describe it is ‘la crème de la crème’!! Set across an entire roof top it offers the most luxurious suite, perfect for honeymooners, with 70 square metres, beautiful décor, 2 terraces, an outdoor Jacuzzi, pull back doors in the rooms and Italian cream sofas!
Ocean Front Cottages:
the 2 ocean front cottages are completely from
the rest of the hotel offering extra privacy. The living space is on 2
floors with a deck over the water, which gives you the impression of
floating, and looks directly onto the magnificent Indian Ocean. In addition
to the features that all the other rooms have, the cottages include 60
metres living space, expansive deck which ‘floats’ over the ocean, external
showers, Italian white sofas, bespoke kitchenette, phone with voicemail and
goody box. Lemon Spa The Lemon Spa strives to offer highest quality services at reasonable prices. Local ingredients such as Zanzibar Mocha, Cinnamon, lemongrass, Ginger amongst others, are used in order to support local market.
You can relax to a massage,
traditional scrubs, even using ‘Singo’, a traditional pre marriage ceremony
body scrub that contains Ylang Ylang, Clove, Jasmine, Sweet Basil and Rose,
rejuvenating facials, vanilla and almond manicures and pedicures. Wining & Dining Saruche Restaurant, the main restaurant, sits on the edge of a small cliff. It is a sophisticated restaurant which offers a relaxed atmosphere with a stunning view of the ocean. You can sit inside or al fresco on the deck over the ocean with the rippling tide to keep you company. It offers a la carte menu of fine African-European cuisine together with a fine selection of international wines. Cinnamon Cocktail Bar Cinnamon bar is a relaxed and vibrant open bar where you can have a nice cool beer or cocktail while admiring the magnificent sunset as the bar is situated in one of the best places to view the Zanzibari sunset.
Cinnamon offers a fusion of Asian
menus as well as simple classics like Fish & Chips, continental salads and
sushi. You can also have your private parties in off areas of the bar as
well as have a more intimate evening. Activities The warm waters of the ocean and the amazing coral reefs offer the perfect place for diving and deep sea fishing. You can also go swimming with humpback whales during their migration, together with experienced divers. Or for those who want to visit the island in order to enrich their knowledge on history and culture, there are excursions to Stone Town, Spice Farms, Jozani forest, Prison Island and the Mnarani turtle sanctuary.
