Accommodation in Madagascar
Princess Bora Lodge
 Sainte-Marie is a tropical island
just off the East coast of Northern Madagascar. Once known for being a haven
for pirates and vagabonds, it is now a treasure island for those seeking
palm-lined beaches, coral reefs and relaxation.
A new concept of hospitality with ecological influence is born in this
unique and still preserved environment: PRINCESSE BORA LODGE & SPA.
The hotel is located in a vast palm tree grove right next to a white sand
beach and the lagoon.
To make your stay even more memorable we strongly recommend you to go and
visit Coco Bay and Clipper Bay, two private beaches belonging to the hotel
which are surrounded by a large forest of coconut trees.
Staying at the PRINCESSE BORA LODGE & SPA means enjoying luxury and
authenticity all in one go. Let your senses guide you…
Sainte-Marie Island is a paradise bathed by the warm
streams of the Indian Ocean. The PRINCESSE BORA LODGE & SPA is nested in a
large palm tree grove in the southern part of the island.
Coco Bay, a private beach with a palm tree grove
belonging to the hotel, is located in the northern part of Sainte-Marie
Island. It is accessible either by 4x4 or by boat. The place includes a
villa, an annexe, and a hotel guide that accompanies the day trips.

SPA
Inspired by ancestral traditions of Africa,
the Princess Bora Jungle Spa welcomes you in an area of 300m2,
totally dedicated to wellness. The team, exclusively composed by women from
Sainte-Marie Island, will welcome you and suggest treatments such as
relaxing massages, skin peelings or perfumed baths. Inspired by ancestral
traditions of Madagascar, the «Jungle Spa» uses an impluvium well, meaning a
central well which collects rainwater in order to use its benefits for the
different treatments.
The Spa is a jungle delight, a haven for total
rejuvenation. A bath with a citrus fruit scrub is followed by a nurturing
skin peel using wild honey which leaves you revitalised. Finish your
treatment with a pampering massage using natural ingredients such as combava
and soothing vanilla.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
The PRINCESSE BORA LODGE &
SPA organises, in collaboration with the best diving centre of the island,
diving sessions on coral reefs to observe the exuberant marine life with its
many tropical fish species, as well as fishing trips.
Whale watch
Live
a unique experience. From 1st July to 30th September,
the Lodge becomes a scientific base, centre for whale-watching and studying
expeditions. These mammals migrate from Antarctica, to reproduce and give
birth in the waters of Sainte-Marie Island. In collaboration with the
whale-protecting association Cetamada, our team gives you the opportunity to
participate in their observations. During your stay at the Princesse Bora
you will be able to participate in the activities concerning these sea
giants (up to 30 tons and 18 meters long). On our boats with the research
teams, you will be able to observe the whales, and collect data
(identifications pictures, behavioural studies, etc.). Debriefing and
conferences about sea mammals at the end of the day. A magical and
unforgettable experience in the idyllic setting of the Princesse Bora and
Sainte-Marie Island.
