Eden Lodge
Eden Lodge is situated on the northern tip of Madagascar, about 30 minutes from Nosy Be. Accessible only by boat this lodge is completely isolated from the rest of the world creating the perfect location for those seeking a romantic get away or just tranquillity and privacy.
Eden Lodge is the only hotel in the world running on solar energy. Laundry and dry cleaning services are the only ones to require a daily two hour use of a power generator. This eco-luxury lodge consists of 8 lodges of 75 square metres right on the beach. They are traditionally built in a South African style. Surrounded by a lush forest and one side and the ocean on the other, this superb lodge creates a perfect Eden garden.
You will be welcomed by Matthieu and Estelle, who put all their energy and warmth into an efficient and effective service, making sure that the guests’ requirements and desires are met.
You will be amazed by the fauna and flora of the forest. Different species of Lemurs, of which nocturnal ones, are seen in the fruit trees of the lodge as well as parrots and other magnificent endemic birds. You will also be lucky to see 23 baobab trees which you will not have the chance to see elsewhere in the Nosy Be area, and dolphins and turtles even whales when they are migrating at 10 metres from the beach.
ACCOMMODATION The 8 lodges are set over more than 8 hectares and blend perfectly with the environment with such traditional construction style. Even though local materials such as Anjanojano stone, trunks of fallen trees and coconut or palm leaves are used in construction, the lodges offer maximum comfort. The innovative architecture of these beachfront lodges allows air to circulate freely, thanks to a ravinala roof and a tent canopy that with large openings protected by mosquito nets.

WINING & DINING The restaurant is spacious and open and is right on the beach. It is perfect to enjoy a meal while admiring the magnificent turquoise ocean. For breakfast you have fresh bread and ‘viennoiserie’ which are prepared at the restaurant itself. Lunch and dinner are 3 course and are a la carte menu.
Our chef will also propose you local and international cuisine made from fresh organic produce, seafood and exotic fruits but the specialities for which Madagascar is famed have not been forgotten – foie gras, filet of zebu and a large selection of exotic fruits.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
You can enjoy a relaxing traditional Madagascan massage using essential oils, as well as other treatments in the comfort of your own lodge on the massage table.
Boat trips to the surrounding areas are offered each morning, where you can discover the sublime natural habitat and meet the Sakalava people – the inhabitants of the neighbouring fishing villages, known for their warmth and profound kindness.
Or if you prefer, a range of « gentle » water sports are available, which respect the delicate environment of Eden Lodge : Hobbie cat, sea kayaks, pedalo, snorkels and masks are free to hire, as well as windsurfing boards.
